This Site
This site is my personal weblog/blog/rant/newsletter/infomercial. However you may have gotten here, thanks for stopping by! Feel free to read and comment on anything you find...
This is v3 of my personal site, the others being v1
and v2 of course. Not only was I long overdue for a redesign, but
I wanted something with more power and control. This version of the site was built using Movable Type,
PHP, and BBEdit
TextMate
(OK, and some Fireworks...)
I'm also incorporating the RelatedEntries MT plugin (to provide the "more like this" features),
the MTAmazon plugin
(for the media section), and the MTPaginate plugin (for the photography and media sections).
An RSS feed of posts is available here, and a feed of my photographs is available here.
Unless otherwise noted, all content on this site is © Andrew Stott.
The Photographs
Photos taken before 2006 were probably shot with a Nikon D100, and more recent photos were shot with a D200. In april 2009 I purchased a D700 which will be my primary body from here on out. Most of my images from 2007-on are shot in RAW, processed in Aperture, and output to this site as JPG files. Speaking of Aperture, I leverage the Connected Flow FlickrExport plugin to integrate with my Flickr account, and I use Sean Farley's Facebook Exporter plugin to get certain images up on Facebook.
Current gear list:
- Nikon D700 & D200
- Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 AF-S
- Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 AF-S DX (for D200)
- Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S VR
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8
- Nikon SB-800 flashes
- Pocket Wizards for flash triggers
- Apple Aperture
Additional photos are available on Flickr. Here are some recent shots:
Me
So you really want to know? I live in Chicago, where I'm a Security Engineer (SE) for FishNet Security. Previously, I worked at United Airlines doing information security and web development. I'm also the founder of Stottsan Digital Media, where I do web design, development, hosting, and various other things...
For more details, you can check out my resume as a Word doc or as a PDF.
Of course, you can find me at the usual places online:
I'm also a Mac geek, and I can't get enough of my 13" MacBook Pro. I also have a 27" iMac Core i7 that functions as a file server for photos and music. Thanks to my Drobo with four 1.5TB drives, I've got plenty of space for work and play.
My Amazon wishlist is online for the holidays, or anytime you feel like it.
