an excellent look into paris life, culture, and politics, written from the perspective of an american (and canadian) living in the city over the course of 5 years. adam gopnik, taking the assignment of "paris journals" for the new yorker, moved to paris with his wife and young son in 1995. this book combines published journal entries as well as a few gopnik kept out of the paper.
