granted, the u2 special edition ipod is a pretty cool -- if you like u2 and only need 20GB of storage that is. but i'm thinking i'd much rather have an ashlee simpson karaoke edition one... courtesy of airbag industries, hopefully it'll still be posted by the time you make your way over there!

The U2 iPod may be ok, but the iPod Photo is got to be the most outrageous thing ever!! $500 for an LCD screen and a 40GB HD !?! And no CF slot ??? Which is another $100 (Belking Media Reader)????? Who is Apple kidding ? Save the money for a Nikon Coolwalker or an Epson P2000. Tim Chakravorty on 2004.11.09 @ 9:50 PMi agree, calling it a "photo" edition is overstating things a bit... but you're missing the point that ipods are more than just LCD screens w/ HD's. you're paying for the interface, the sync capabilities (w/ itunes, ical, address book), and the ability to use it as a firewire (or USB 2.0) HD when on the road. personally, i'd certainly consider dropping $100 more to get a color screen, if i was interested in the normal 40GB ipod that is. then again i spent $500 for my 30GB non-color non-clickwheel version... :) but i know even the 60GB wouldn't have enough space for my music and my photos. if only they could make a portable Xserve RAID that would fit in your pocket. andrew on 2004.11.10 @ 8:32 AM |
